Himachal: BJP rift again come to fore in Paonta sahib
Nahan: After a long gap the rift within the party leader of ruling party BJP has come to fore on Monday when former minister Shayma Sharma started penetrating into the home constituency of CPS Sukh Ram Chaudhary. On Monday instead of sharing the common platform at Paonta Sahib in Himachal, both BJP leaders took part in two different programs at a same time which again brought the fissure into the fore.
Although BJP leader Shayma Sharma had to inaugurate a cricket tournament in the home town of the CPS (Chief Parliamentary Secretary) Sukh Ram Chaudhary but political observer said it was planned to give a blow to CPS who was frequently interfering in home constituency of Former Minister Shayma Sharma.
It is learn that former minister Shyama Sharma was silent in political activities since a long time but finally she decided to break her political fast on Monday. Former MLA Jagat Singh negi who was away from politics since a long time due to illness was also present in the function of Former Minister Shayma Sharma.
As per as the information it was the first attempt of the former Minister Shayma Sharma to be the chief guest in any function in the home constituency of the CPS, however it was a routine for CPS to interfere the Nahan constituency of former Minister.
CPS Sukh Ram Chaudhary was the chief guest in district level sport meets at Paonta sahib, however former Minister Shayma Sharma inaugurated 1st Shahid Bhagat Singh cricket tournament in which teams from Madhya Pardesh, Punjab, Utterpardesh, Haryana and Utterakund were participating.
Though the ruling BJP was succeeded in getting the lead from all five assembly constituencies from the district in last Parliament polls but this fact could also be not ignored it would be difficult for BJP to repeat this history in 2012 assembly polls due to the rift.
Initially ruling government had centralized the powers to CPS Sukh Ram Chaudahry in the district but later government nominated senior party leader Chander Mohan Thakur from the district as the Chairman of the Cooperative bank.
Political observers also feel that in these situations the ruling party would have to face a set back in ensuing urban bodies and Panchyati raj institutions (PRI’s) elections in the state. It is worthwhile to mention here that the BJP camp is divided between CPS Sukh ram chaudhry and Shayma Sharma since a long time but party organization never tried to resolve it.
Due to the centralization of maximum powers to CPS Sukh Ram Chaudhry the development was also suffering in the district since a long time that did preferred to support developments of other constituencies.
On the other hand party organization was silent over the political drama which occurred at Paonta sahib on Monday, the district BJP Chief Baldeav Tomar said there were two separate functions at Paonta sahib in which Sukh ram and Shayma Sharma had participated as the chief guest. He further added that it was nothing to do with party rift and claimed that party was united in the leadership of Chief Minister Himachal Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal.
