Nahan: Junior basic teachers (JBT) trainees of 2008-10 batch have demanded the Himachal government to safeguard their prospect. In view of the uncertainty over the future the JBT trainees today hold a demonstration and shouted slogans in support of their demands. Trainees also sent a demand charter to the state government; more than 185 trainees participate in the demonstration. District president of the JBT trainees association Mr. Devender Sharma said that on 29th September 2007 the Himachal government made mandatory to describe the method of appointments in the advertisements, but the state government was yet to clear the stand about their appointments of the JBT trainees of 2008-10 trainees and added that there was a confusion whether they would be employed on regular basis or contractual basis. Vice president of the association Mr. Deepak Panwar said that surprisingly the state government has clarified that the trainees of 2009-11 batch would be appointed on contractual basis but their future was still uncertain. The JBT trainees Shiwani, Naveen, Madhubala, Reeta and Reetika demanded the Chief Minister Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal to issue the orders for granting them the regular bond. They said that the trainees were yet to fill their bond. Secretary of the association Arun said that the association would be bound to intensify their agitation if the state government would not resolve their demands soon.
