Himachal Forest Corporation contributes 5 lakh towards relief fund

Shimla: Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister Himachal was presented a draft of Rs. 5.01 lakh by  J.P. Nadda, Forest Minister on behalf of H.P. State Forest Development Corporation at Vidhan Sabha complex here today. Vikram Thakur, Vice Chairman and R.C. Gupta, Managing Director also accompanied the Minister. The contribution towards Chief Minister’s Relief Fund has been made out of the profit earned by the organization during current financial year.
Chief Minister thanked the management and staff of the Corporation for the donation towards Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. He said that the Corporation had a turnover of Rs. 150 crore during current financial compared to Rs. 136 crore, which was 10 percent more than the preceding financial year. He said that the profit margin was likely to increase further after the compilation of sales figures for current financial year.
He said that resin and turpentine being sold by the Corporation units at Nahan and Bilaspur had also registered an increase of about 60 percent during current financial year and turnover on this account was Rs. 38 crore. He hoped that the corporation would further strengthen its marketing network and earn more profit in future.
Prof. Dhumal said that the management of the Corporation was showing satisfactory results by strengthening its marketing network and providing consumers timber wood for domestic consumption at reasonable rates through the retail outlets being operated by it in different parts of the State.
