Education cited as priority for Kalgidhar Trust Baru Sahib

Baru Sahib (Nahan): The Kalgidhar trust Baru Sahib has a target to expand the educational institutes in the North India with an aim of simple living and high thinking. Stating this chairman of the trust and saint (80) years Baba Iqbal Singh said that currently more than 1500 students from all over India and about 200 from USA and 16 different countries are getting education in the Akal academy Baru sahib. He said that trust intend to grow the well mannered youths who would play a key role in making India as a super power of the world. During an exclusive interaction with NVO News Baba Iqbal Singh said that no power of the world can stoppe India in making the country a super power of the world, for which a force of youth would be required. He informed that trust have also decided to institute 200 Akal academies in the North India till the end of 2012 which would reach to 500 at the end of 2020.

He said that Saints had declare in 1906 that this place would become a hub of education and added that so far only 20 percent work have been completed. In an other significant information Baba said that devotees wanted to complete the GURUDWARA Baru Sahib (outside) with the expensive stone but he decides to utilize the funds for the expansion of educational institutes of Akal academy. He said that 30 crores were required for the work. He added that instead of spending huge amount on Gurudwara it was decided to spend the amount for the expansion of educational institutes in the north India. Baba Iqbal Singh said that along with the quality education trust was also not leaving any stone unturned in the filed of social work. He said that trust is running a 250 bedded hospital at Baru sahib where the health services are given free of cost even trust organize four free heath check up camps at Baru sahib every year with the cost of 1.5 crore in which specialties are being invited.

He informed that the great visionary of 20th century Sant Attar Singh Ji (1866-1927) had a vision that modern scientific education alone will not serve the humanity well, until and unless it is amalgamated with Braham Vidya (Spiritual Education). He said that with this vision in mind, Sant Attar Singh Ji sent his devotee Teja Singh Ji ((M.A., LL.B) abroad in 1906 to get the best possible modern education available than anywhere in the world.

He further informed that on his (Teja Singh) return, Sant Attar Singh Ji gave him  a “good grounding” in Braham Vidya and trained him to carry forward his mission of creating special breed of Akal Scholars with high moral values.Baba Iqbal Singh said that  Sant Attar Singh Ji also directed  Teja Singh to find a “Tapo Bhumi” in Himalayan mountains, where Rishis, Munis and holy men had  done Tapasya (meditation) in the past and gave  Teja Singh, the visual description of the place – resembling “BARU SAHIB”.Baba Iqbal Singh said that to fulfill the vision of Sant Attar Singh Ji,The Kalgidhar trust was instituted in 1956.
