Ministry of commerce recommends extension of industrial package to Himachal
New Delhi: Ministry of commerce govt of India has recommended the extension of industrial package to the state of Himachal Pradesh upto the year 2013 disclosed chief minister Professor Prem Kumar Dhumal after meeting with union commerce and industries minister Anand Sharma here today .
Chief minister Professor Prem Kumar Dhumal told that union commerce ministry has recommended the extension of packages to Prime minister and union finance ministry. He told union commerce and industry minister Anand Sharma that there is no flight of industries from
neighboring states to Himachal Pradesh as result of industrial package infact the reputed industrial houses from Karnataka, Gujrat, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh are setting up
additional new units in the state to reap the benefits of industrial package. He told that union govt had sanctioned the industrial package to the states of Himachal, Uttranchal and Jammu and Kashmir to increase the industrial investments in these states keeping in view of the tough geographical conditions and industrial backwardness of these regions and added that it has left positive impact on the industrial development of the state which needs to be carried out further by extending it .
He told that there is no justification of curtailing the industrial package time limit for the states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand while continuing the same for the state of Jammu and Kashmir as entire region faces same economic, geographical and topographical conditions. He urged union minister that the state industrial package should be extended to all these states on the same pattern on which it was sanctioned by the union govt .
Chief minister Professor Prem Kumar Dhumal told that union commerce ministry will set up skill development centres at Solan and Una districts to train the local youths for sharpening their talents and skills to enable them to get lucrative jobs in Pvt sector and multi national companies and create self employment avenues in the region . He told that union commerce ministry will also take proactive role for attracting the investment in food and fruit processing and IT sectors in the state and told that state govt will provide all the logistic and infrastructure support to the union govt for attracting huge investment in these sectors Chief minister Professor Prem Kumar Dhumal told that high level central delegations headed by union commerce and industry minister Anand Sharma and comprising top bureaucrats and reputed industrial houses is visiting the state from tomorrow to assess the impact of the industrial development and further study the scope of industrial expansion in the state and give fresh presentations on industrial
development in Himachal Pradesh .He welcomed the visit of the union minister and assured all help, assistance to central tem to complete its mission and objectives
Union commerce minister Anand Sharma said that he is fully satisfied with the arguments put forwarded by the state govt and the state govt has fully justified the extension of industrial package by putting forward the solid logics and arguments based on facts and records.
