6th State Youth Festival begins in Chandigarh
Chandigarh: The 6th State Youth Festival commenced today at Skating Rink, Sector 19. UT Finance-cum-Sports Secretary, Mr. Sanjay Kumar was the chief guest in the inaugural function. The festival is being conducted in various disciplines including Folk Song, Folk Dance, One Act Play, Classical Vocal, Classical Instrumental, Classical Dance and Elocution.
Around 14 teams are participating in the various programmes. The winners of the various disciplines would be participating in the National Youth Festival to be held in Bhubneshwar. The three day festival is being organized by the Department of Sports, Chandigarh Administration.
Classical Instrumental will be held in various categories like Harmonium, Tabla, Sitar, Guitar and Murdangam, while Classical Dance would be in the categories of Bharatnattyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak and Manipuri.
