Himachal to recruit 673 college lecturers

Shimla: The process to recruit 673 college cadre lecturers is in progress to fill up vacant post in all Government Colleges. This was stated by Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister while addressing a public meeting at Banjar in district Kullu after dedicating newly constructed college building at a cost of Rs. 3.50 crore to the students of the college today.
Chief Minister said that out of 72 college cadre lecturers recruited in English subject 48 were women. He said that all vacancies of teaching faculty were being filled up on priority. He said that State ranked at the top in higher education since 20 percent of students were getting higher education against national average of nine percent.
Prof. Dhumal said that former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee had envisioned Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna with a view to provide road connectivity to every village with motorable road. He said that the programme proved a boon to the State and since large number of villages had been connected while the left out ones were in the process of getting road connectivity. He assured the people that funds would not be any constraint to achieve the objective. He added that 52 km road stretch would be added in Banjar assembly segment during current financial year.
Chief Minister said that uniform and balanced development was the policy of the State Government and no area would be left under developed . He said that adequate funds were being provided for Banjar area for speedy development.
Prof. Dhumal announced upgradation of Government Primary School Shegali to Government Middle School in Chachiot segment of district Mandi. He announced opening of Government Primary School in interior at Dhara and Jhaniyar, Government Middle School at Shilli Gururi and Government Senior Secondary School at Jimi in Banjar segment. He also announced upgradation of Government High School Mohani to Government Senior Secondary School from next academic session. Chief Minister also announced to release of Rs. 5.47 crore for completion of college campus at the earliest to equip college with best of the educational facilities to the students.
Chief Minister was accorded a rousing reception by large number of people of the area who welcomed him enroute from Kullu to Banjar. He gave a patient hearing to the public grievances.
Earlier, Chief Minister also paid obeisance in the temple at Loren.
Khimi Ram, local MLA and President, State BJP also welcomed the Chief Minister to his home segment and thanked him for his visit to the area. He said that development had been given a renewed momentum during past two years since Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister took over the reigns of the State. He pleaded Chief Minister for upgradation of various educational institutions in the segment.
Smt. Bhuvneshwari Sharma, Principal, Government Degree College Banjar welcomed the Chief Minister and apprised of various educational activities in the college. She thanked Chief Minister for dedicating the new college building to the students.
