Himalayan Group of Professional Institutions organized a blood donation camp

Nahan: Himalayan Group of Professional Institutions Kala Amb Distt. Sirmour organized a blood donation camp in the campus. Dr. Vandana Gupta who is working as a Dr. in USA inaugurated the camp by lighting the lamp. She encouraged the students to donate blood voluntarily as it is needed to save the life of a person. She told that it is very unfortunate to see a patient dying due to non-availability of blood. Dr. Sanjay Sharma from Civil Hospital Nahan gave awareness on donation of blood and apprised the students of the importance of blood donation for a donor. Dr. Chauhan from Shimla with his team come for this purpose.

Chairman of the Himalayan Group of Professional Institutions Kala Amb was the first to donate blood which inspired others also for the same. Principal of B. Pharmacy Dr. Rakesh Bijarnia & Dr. S.K. Singh Principal B.Ed. were also in the list of donors. Faculty and students of Law, B.Ed., Polytechnic, B.Tech, MBA & MCA showed a great enthusiasm for donation. Rajneesh Bansal Chairman HGPI assured the medical staff from Shimla & Nahan that this number will go on increasing day by day. This time about 200 units of blood was donated.

A poster making and slogan writing competition was also held which made the camp all the more meaningful. Blood donors were awarded certificates by the Superintendent of Police Mr. Pupul Dutt Parshad. In his address to the students he told them that they are doing a noble work for society. He emphasized that they should try to be good human beings which is the need of the hour. Blood donation is an act of selfless giving.
