Industrial houses continue to invest in Himachal
Nahan: Despite close stage of completion of the industrial package the industrial houses are still taking interest in the investment in Himachal. According to sources the state industry department has got fresh proposals for the investment in Himachal on which state government will decide the final approval. Though the official of the department refuses to provide the details of the proposal before the single window clearance, source said that industry department has revived the proposals of more than 100 crores out of which 35 crore consists of Kala amb industrial area. Sources said that JHS svend guard company had offered the proposal of 23 crore investment to set up the plant at industrial area Kala amb. Sources also said that there was also a chance of the joint venture of this company with a Dutch industrial house. This company would produce toothpastes and detergent etc. As per as the further information this company has also offered the employment of 200 people. Sources further added that another Mumbai based company rich gravious has submitted a proposal of investment of 14 crores in the industrial area Kala amb to set up a unit for non diary products however a venture with prestigious ice cream manufacture group of the country can also be not ruled out. Source said that there was also few proposals of the steel plants but these proposals have been rejected in the preliminary stage as government was not allowing these plants in the industrial area Kala amb. Sources also informed that the department was likely to announce the date for the single window clearance meeting in the couple of days in the presence of the chief minister Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal. It is worthwhile to mention here that only those industries would get the benefit of the package that would start their production on or before 31st March 2010.
On the other hand Joint director of the industry department Mahesh Sharma refuting to provide the details of the fresh proposals only admitted that proposals were received which could be disclosed after the meeting of the single window clearance. He said that once the details were published in advance on which government had advised not to repeat it again.
