Shimla: Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister Himachal Pradesh, has thanked the electors of Himachal Pradesh for reaffirmation of their faith in the progressive policies and programmes of the State Government by electing three BJP nominees out a total of four Members of Parliament from the State in the Parliamentary Elections held in the State on 13th May, 2009. He said that it had been possible due to the spectacular achievement State Government made on all fronts during past fifteen months rule in the State benefiting every section of the society. He said that the Government also accepts the verdict of the people of Mandi Parliamentary Constituency with humility and shall be carrying introspection at different level to find out the reasons for the defeat of the party candidate there.
Chief Minister said that compared to only one seat won by BJP in outgoing Lok Sabha it had succeeded in registering victory over three seats in the State. He said that the party had also created a history in Shimla Parliamentary Constituency where it won the seat with respectable margin after a long gap. He expressed his gratitude towards the electors of Shimla parliamentary segment in particular for their overwhelming support to the party nominee Virender Kashyap. He said that Hamirpur Parliamentary seat had again been won with the highest margin by party nominee Anurag Thakur. He said that with it another chapter had been added to the political history of the State after people of the State had elected a pure BJP Government in the elections conducted to the HP State Legislative Assembly during the month of December, 2007.
Prof. Dhumal thanked the party workers who worked dedicatedly and committedly to ensure the victory of party nominees in the elections. He said that they had worked overtime to ensure that every elector was visited in person and requested to vote in favour of the party nominees. He said that party workers were the real strength of the party who worked in close coordination to create mass awareness about the policies and programmes of the State Government in every nook and corner of the State.
Chief Minister assured the people of the State that the State Government would give renewed momentum to the developmental pace and ensure balanced and uniform development of every area by rising above all considerations. He said that the State Government would use all channels at its command to get the various benefits delivered to the State redressed by the Union Government besides endeavouring to acquire maximum central sponsored schemes for the State.
