Peace Club inaugurated in Panchkula Navodaya Vidyalaya

apr-17Chandigarh: A Peace Club inaugurated at Navodaya Vidyalaya, Mouli, Panchkula on Friday.  Karan Singh Jaglan, Dy. DEO & Parmod Sharma, Coordinator of Yuvsatta-an NGO were the key speakers on the occasion.

Introducing the Peace Club activities Mrs. Santosh Sharma, Principal of the School said that as part of their endeavour to promote gandhian values amongst the students, they have planned to organize lot of activities like a Peace Week, Essay, slogan and Poetry writing contests on the theme of non-violence and forgiveness, plays highlighting the life and works of Gandhiji plus educational excursions for the student members of Peace Club of the School.

Karan Singh Jaglan informed that they have already started a process of inculcation of gandhian values amongst the students through Peace Clubs in all the Schools of Panchkula. To begin with they intend to strengthen at least 20 Peace Clubs in various Schools of Panckula District and later will like to spread this campaign to other parts of their Haryana State as well. He also announced grant of 20 autobiographies of Mahatma Gandhi for School Library.apr-17a

In his address to students and teachers of the School Parmod Sharma said that Peace Clubs in educational institutions can help a lot in creating an environment where harmony prevails in the School, where learning becomes attractive and empowering for the child. As part of an ongoing campaign of Yuvsatta, Project V-care, he also motivated students of the School to write personal letters of love and affection to soldiers posted on the borders of India with Pakistan.

Raj Kumar, the teacher in charge of Peace Club of the School promised to get around 1000 beautiful postcards from students, saluting the courage and valour of soldiers of Indian Army.

    In our Vidyalaya,J.N.V.Ferozepur [Pb]peace club is working under the guidelines and direction of N.C.E.R.T, New Delhi.I have got 45days training in peace education.After taking training peace club was started in our vidyalaya,several visits were taken by our club members to inculcate peace values in the students. Daily teacher talk on moral values was introduced in morning assembly.Chance is provided to each and every student to come on the stage to remove their hesitation. A seminar was organized in Feb2008in our Vidyalaya to create a peaceful in schools.

    REPORT ON PEACE EDUCATION ACTIVITIES IN J.N.V.FEROZEPUR

    Peace club is working with full enthusiasm in J.N.V. Ferozepur since August 2006. Several activities related with peace were performed in our Vidyalaya with the involvement of students .Detailed report is given below:

    1. Introduction of Shanti Geet in morning assembly for the promotion of peace concepts& inculcation of peace values in students.
    2. Teacher talk on moral values& teaching of great people in the morning assembly is a part of our schedule.
    3. Quotations of Gandhi Ji, J.Krishnamurti, Shri Aurobindo and Tagore, related with peace will be written everyday on the peace board by peace club members.
    4. Birthday wishes is given to the students through peace corner. Such a small effort of peace club will certainly give happiness & family atmosphere to the students.
    5. Peace can be attained by sharing our resources with other. Our students share Vidyalaya infrastructure with nearby school such as sharing of labs, library books by mobile library activity& visit to computer labs by the students of local areas.
    6. Peace with nature is the important concept of Peace Education. Our students by planting more & more trees every year will create a peaceful atmosphere in & outside the Vidyalaya.
    7. Rallies was organized by our Vidyalaya Peace club to aware the society about their rights and duties, conservation of our historical monuments, saving our energy,
    8. Celebration of National & Important days in the Vidyalaya. Speeches are prepared/delivered by the students .
    9. To make our students healthy& wise yoga classes are organized in the Vidyalaya.
    10. Communication with students is a important part of peace approach. Suggestion box, meeting with students, house meeting are arranged time to time to solve the grievances of students.
    11. Students are encouraged to come up with their writing, painting, poems and stories. Peace club is going to give their concept a shape of magazine.

    Peace clubs are the need of era. To foster social& moral values among the teenagers who are the future generation of the nation. It is not only the resolution which can give a peaceful society for the developmental works but the real desires are to come from the inner core of the heart. In this connection we have taken up the task to bring new generation on the common platform in solving common conflicts arising in the day to day life. We are indebted to our worthy Deputy Commissioner officiating Sh. P.S. Rana who has extended his valuable guidance & inspiration time to time to make these peace clubs a success. It will be injustice if we forget the valuable contribution extended by regional office Chandigarh especially Sh. R.P.Dobwal , Director N.L.I., Sh. Harcharan Singh, Assistant Commissioner& worthy Principals of our region under whom the peace clubs are running successfully. Lastly we thankful to the higher officers of NVS Hq, New Delhi who have taken the initiative with N.C.E.R.T. New Delhi for their valuable direction to work for peace.
