State-Level Nasha Nivaran Competition organised by DPR Himachal Pradesh

mar-29Dharmshala: State level Nasha Nivaran Abhiyan, Declamation Contest, Painting and Slogan Writing Contest was organized by Information and Public Relations Department in which 66 students belonging to various schools from 11 districts participated at Dharmshala today.
Dr. AJV Parsad, Divisional Commissioner presiding over the prize distribution function said that voluntary organizations, Mahila Mandal, Yuvak Mandal, Teachers and parents should actively participate to educate and create awareness amongst the children and people in general about ill effects of various drugs and alcohol. He said that people living in far-flung and rural areas should be motivated to refrain themselves from consumption mar-29aof intoxicants. He also informed that government has set up de-addiction centre for the welfare of people in Dharmshala.
Dr. AJV Prasad also distributed prizes to the winners, who stood first, second and third in various categories. Ishwar Dass Thakur student of Senior Secondary School, Janjheli in senior category and Kumari Aarushi from DAV School, Chamba in junior category stood first in Declamation contest. Similarly, Aman Negi, Senior Secondary School, Chota Shimla in senior category and Himanshu Kashyap from ABN School, Nahan, Sirmour in jounior category stood first in painting competition and Kumari Swati from Senior Secondary School, Raison, district Kullu in Senior category and Kumari Shobha Shree Rathore, Senior Secondary School, Sainj, Kullu in junior category took first position in slogan writing. 
Earlier, Sandeep Bhatnagar, Additional Deputy Commissioner inaugurated the function in the Zila Parishad Hall. Speaking on the occasion, he said that there was urgent need to bring the attitudinal change in the mind-set of people, so that the social evils dangerous for the development of the society could be uprooted forever. He urged students and teachers to come forward to educate and disseminate ill effects of the drugs and various other intoxicants harmful for health.
The Information and Public Relations Department also displayed the paintings and slogan writing of the students who stood first and second in district level and State level functions.
