Nahan: The Royal family of the princely state Sirmaur have finally put stamp on the renovation of the Royal palace in the town. Decades old dispute among the legal heirs of the Royal family is also likely to resolve.
Interacting with Northern Voices Online the daughter of the last ruler and Maharani of Jaipur Padamini Devi said that she was in the town for the purpose. She said that the family had already taken the decision to open the doors of ancient temple of Nagar deity KHEADA lactated in the premises of the temple. Maharani Padamani Devi said that she was emotionally attached with the town and also knows that the people of the town were also sentimental for the Royal palace. It is worthwhile to mention here that Maharani Padamani Devi was first time in the town with her family. Maharani Padamani Devi said that the Royal palace would be renovated as per as the old structure style and added that legal disputes would be solved amicably. She said that due to the legal dispute the renovation of the Palace was not undertaken. Before leaving to Jaipur this afternoon Maharani Padamani Devi said that she was keen to meet the people of the town but due to the shortage of time it was not possible. Maharani Padamani Devi said that in another early tour to Nahan she would prefer to meet the residents of the town. The senior people of the town said that it was the first time when Maharani Padamni Devi was in the town with her family after the death of last ruler Rajinder Parkash in 1964.
The residents also reacted positively on the interest of the Royal family in renovating the Royal Palace. The Royal Palace spread in more than 30 bighas of land in the heart of the city could give a new boom to tourism in the area. The Royal Family had already started the renovation of the palace. In this tour to her parental town Maharani of Jaipur was accompanied by her daughter Diya Singh and son in law Maharaja Narender Singh. On the other hand Maharaja Udai Parkash was also in the town on Thursday. Maharani was in the lime light few years back due to the family relation with the Royal family of the British.
