Job Fest concludes in SD College Chandigarh

Chandigarh: On day two of the two day “Job Fest” that GGDSD College, Sector 32-C, Chandigarh is organizing in collaboration with Vision Unlimited in its premises, recruitments went steady with as many as 900 students from various institutes of the tricity of Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula and the nearby regions of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh bagging placements with some of the best companies operating in the fields of telecommunications, banking, insurance and other financial services.

Students were seen in the hope of finding jobs in companies of their choice. After a series of written tests and interviews, the companies picked up another 80 students. With this the total selections have touched the 250 mark out of the 2500 students who participated in this two day job fest. Along with this another 250 have been short listed by the companies for a final screening in the company headquarters. This final screening would also include a training period of one to two weeks.

Expressing his great joy at the remarkable success of this event, Principal Dr. A. C. Vaid congratulated the Placement Cell of the college for having put in round the clock efforts for this job fest and said that such a fest offers a tremendous opportunity to the students who manage finding a job that fits their requirements and profile. He added that this job fest remains “an annual feature of the college and each year the students of the college manage some very good job offers in the market. This year the college made available this opportunity to students of other institutes as well.”

The Placement Coordinator S. K. Sharma, also expressed his satisfaction. He stated that the fest “got an overwhelming response and was fruitful for the students as well,” who got an excellent opportunity for a mega placement bonanza even in such times of recession.
