Loading her weapon before starting practicing in balcony

Nahan: In the absence of shooting range the budding shooters of the town are being forced to practices in a balcony of house with temporary arrangements. Surprisingly, it all was happening in the home district of International shooter Samresh Jung.

14 years Sanya Parmar recently left for National shooting championship after practicing in a range constructed in the gallery of a house. Amazingly Sanya has seen a dream to bring a medal for the state in National shooting championship after practicing in such shooting range (10 meters). According to experts state government need not require crorers to provide a 10 meters shooting range for budding shooters of the district. Only few lakhs can facilitate the shooters.

Sanya Parmar practicing in a range constructed in a balcony

Experts say the Chamba ground stadium was incomplete since two and half decades due to the inadequate land but the shooting range, basketball and badminton could be constructed on this ground. Recently Aarjoo Thakur of the district had won the gold medal in 34th national women championship due to the facilities provided by her father Inder Singh who even has constructed double court badminton stadium at Renuka ji, now in similar conditions Sanya Parmar was keen to won the medal at national level, while her final goal was to win medal in Olympics. Experts say district was an impressive potential in badminton and shooting but the state was yet to provide even basic facilities to talented player below 14 years.

It is worthwhile to mention here that Sanya had converted a balcony into a shooting range few months back when she was selected for national shooting championship. The question arise that Sanya would have to show her talent on the lines of Aarjoo thakur or state government would come forward to provide facilities to such talented players.
