Dr Zuber Ahmad of J. N. Medical College, AMU gets fellowship, Presents research paper in USA

Aligarh: Dr. Zuber Ahmad, reader and chairman, department of TB & Respiratory Diseases, J N Medical College, AMU received fellowship of Chest College of Physicians, USA in a grand convocation ceremony held in Philadelphia, USA. This fellowship has been awarded to him for his skill, expertise and his contribution in the field of chest medicine.
Dr. Zuber Ahmad presented a research paper also in the conference ‘CHEST 2008′ held in Philadelphia, USA. He conducted his research work in his department on smoker and non smoker asthmatics. His research topic was ‘To analyze relative and additional bronchodilator responses of Salbutamol and Ipratropium in smoker and non-smoker asthmatics’. This study was the first study of its kind. In his study he found that Ipratropium, a bronchial asthma drug, had little or no effect in non smoker asthmatics while in smoker asthmatics it is quite effective and should be given to them along with another drug salbutamol for better control of asthma.
