Women Cricket Championship 2008 concludes

Chandigarh: The final match of Pandit Kedarnath Memorial Junior Open State Women Cricket Championship 2008 was played today in Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 32. UT Home Secretary, Mr. Ram Niwas was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony.

On the occasion Mr. Niwas said that more such tournaments should be organized and Administration would extend all possible help. He further said that Administration would make arrangements of coaches and training infrastructure whenever required. He guided the children to transcend all barriers of caste,

creed, color or religion and think only of Nation as a whole.

Mr. Niwas gave away the prizes to the team member of winner and runner-up team. GMSSS 56 won the match scoring 120 runs losing 5 wickets. GMSSS 33 on the other hand scored 63 losing all wickets in just 16 overs. The two teams were given cash prizes. ‘The title of Women of the series was given to Ms. Lalita.

Mr. Vinod Sharma, MLA was the guest of Honor at the ceremony. Principal, GMSSS 56, Principal, GMSSS 32, teachers and students were present during the function.
