Shalender kalra writes: The preliminary HAS (Himachal administrative services) exam of the public service commission has come under the scanner. Sources said that due to the wrong evaluation of answer sheets of the exam (History) conducted on 10th August2008, many applicants has been deprived for main exam of the HAS. As per as the information the exam for four posts of the HAS was conducted by the commission, the result of which was declare on 27th September. According to further information available 81 applicants had applied for the posts. Sources said that six answer keys of optional subject history were wrongly evaluated which affected the cut off merit list. As per as further information there were two papers in the preliminary exam one as optional subject and other as general knowledge each of 120 marks. It is worthwhile to mention here that public service commission has displayed the result on website with answer keys which has brought the mistake in evaluation into the light. Source says if public service commission rectifies the mistake than more applicants would get a chance to sit in the main exam of the HAS. When contacted on mobile, Secretary public service commission V.C. katoch said that he was on the tour outside the state but confirmed that few requests of the applicants were received in his office to see into the matter. He also advised to contact secretary public service commission K.D.Rana to enquire more into the matter. But Rana was not available for comments.
