Plan for setting up 20,000 Poly-houses in Himachal
Shimla: Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister said that the State Government had prepared a plan for setting up of 20,000 Poly-houses and had submitted to Government of India for financing.
Chief Minister inaugurated the two day long District Level Sair Fair and was addressing the gathering on the occasion at Arki in district Solan today.
Chief Minister said that 5500 recruitments had been made in various departments during last eight months and added that providing employment to 26000 persons would be the target to be achieved during the current financial year. He said that 634 teachers would soon be recruited for colleges all over the State.
He said that single eligible women would be able to draw Social Security Pensionary benefits, separate ration card would be issued to them and added that State Government would make all out efforts to help them lead a secure life.
He said that the target of achieving free soil testing of one-lakh farmers during current financial year would be achieved soon and added that about 56000 farmers had already been covered under the scheme, who have been issued Soil Health Cards. He said that the agriculture sector had vast potential of generating employment, which was being diversified and strengthened.
Prof. Dhumal said that the State Government was making efforts to protect the interests of all the sections of the society by rising above political considerations and added that the State was poised to emerge as a role model in all respects so that every person could lead an economically secure life. He said that developmental activities were being undertaken at a faster pace after the present government came into power and added that over 12 lakh families were benefited with enhanced daily wages, which were increased Rs. 25 per day and was a record in itself. He said that the minimum wages would also be applicable to Job Card Holders registered under NREGA. He said that 100 days of assured employment had been ensured to every registered person under the programme. He appealed the people to take benefit of NREGA programme, which provides employment at their doorsteps. He said that rural people would carry out their need based developmental activities out of the NREGA funds.
Chief Minister said that Rs. 22.5 crore were being spent by the Public Works Department on construction of roads and bridges in Arki Assembly Segment during current financial year whereas Rs. 8.45 crore were spent by previous government during previous year. He said that Rs. 1.15 crore and Rs. 1.42 crore were being spent under education and health sectors in the segment. He further said that Animal Husbandry activities were being promoted and added that Rs. 25 crore were being spent under various developmental activities in the segment. He assured the people that all out efforts would be made to meet their developmental requirements.
He said that Shalaghat-Subathu-Solan road would double laned and Rs. 12 crore would be spent on the same. He said that Basantpur-Bharadighat road would also be widened by spending Rs. 12 crore. He also assured of opening new schools on need basis in the segment and added that Naib Tehsildar would be available at Darlaghat from 11th to 20th of every month to facilitate local people.
