3rd Chandigarh International Film Festival from Feb 5

Chandigarh: Chandigarh Tourism Department in collaboration with Society for Tourism and Entertainment Promotion (STEPS) is to hold the Chandigarh International Film Festival for the third consecutive year in the month of February

next year 2009 .The festival will start from Feb 5th and go on till Feb 8th. The theme of the Chandigarh International Film Festival this time is Contribution of Women in cinema as Directors, Actors, Writers, Musician, Choreographer and Designers.

In the Chandigarh International Film Festival, films will be categorized under Children movies, Main stream cinema and International Movies. Keeping the theme of the festival in mind retrospective of films directed by a renowned Women Director

is a special feature.

Venues of the Chandigarh International Film Festival would be Tagore Theatre, Government Museum and Art Gallery and Cinema Halls .The website of Chandigarh International Film Festival will be formally launched prior to the Chandigarh

International Film Festival. During the Chandigarh International Film Festival workshops based on the theme- “Cinema through my vision” will also be conducted. The Open hand Award will also be given to the best film in the Debutante Director Category Celebrities who may attend the Chandigarh International Film Festival are Mr. Dev Anand, Mr. N. Chandra, Ms. Meghna Gulzar, Ms. Deepa Mehta , Ms. Tanuja Chandra , Ms. Nandita Das and Ms. Gurinder Chadha .
