Suicide by a lady in Majra, husband held

NNL Bureau: Neelam Kumari [28] resident of village Majra under Paonta sub division today died after reportedly consuming poison at her residence, police has arrested her husband Malkiat Singh in this connection.

Mr V. S. Thakur, DSP Police Paonta said this evening that Neelam Kumari, a mother of three children died today after she consumed the pesticide tablets ‘sulfas’. She was daughter of Paras Ram resident of village Singhpura of Paonta area who has lodged a complaint in the police station helding her husband responsible for the death.

DSP said that in this connection a case under section 306 IPC has been registered and husband of the deceased has been arrested immediately. The post mortem of the dead body has been conducted.

Police has been informed that a complaint in the local Panchyat was also lodged a few months back by the deceased alleging continuous beating by her husband. However  husband had reportedly assured the Panchyat not to harass her in the future, but the father of the deceased alleged that accused never amend himself.
