Himachal to fill up vacant posts to ensure smooth functioning – Dr. Bindal
Shimla: Dr. Rajiv Bindal, Health Minister said that the Government has decided to fill up most vacant posts in the near future in order to ensure smooth functioning of the Ayurvedic Health Centres in the State. He was addressing a State level meeting of the District Ayurvedic Officers and Sub-Divisional Ayurvedic Medical Officers held here today.
Health Minister advised every institution to grow 20-30 herbal plants in the premises wherever it was feasible. He said that supply of the medicines in the institutions should be stored in good conditions, away from dampness, rodents, insects and dust and directed the officers to ensure the same.
Dr. Bindal stressed upon the need to take the Ayurveda Department as a front-runner in catering health needs of the people of the State. He urged the officers to work with determination in order to promote, propagate and popularize the Ayurvedic system of treatment in the State. He said that good performing doctors should be honoured and non-performers be identified with reasons. He also stressed upon ensuring punctuality in the health institutions in order to provide better health services to the people.
Dr. Bindal said that Government had decided to lay stress on certain “Ayush Select Therapies” and added that a project was being launched soon on “Anemia Free Himachal” based on Ayurvedic system. He said that others areas of priority are Geriatric Health Care through Ayurveda, Kshar-Sutra Therapy in Ano-rectal ailments and Panchkarma in the promotion of positive health.
Dr. Bindal said that State has to be projected as “Herbal State” by encouraging herbal cultivation to bring about prosperity in the State.
