Sirmour eagerly wait for the return of its great son The Great Khali
SR Pundir writes: There is no reaction in the administrative or political circles on the return of Great wrestler and great son of Sirmour Daleep Singh Rana popularly known with the name of ‘The Graeat Khali’ world wide. Rana is returning India on 2nd of May after a gap of two and half years.
However his family members and people of his Panchyat were preparing to give their son a warm welcome in their village although the date when he would pay a visit to his native village is yet to be known but his family sources confirms that he would arrive tomorrow in India.
Except the people of his village, electronic media was highly charged with the returning news of Khali and telecasting every event related with Khali. Residents of Dhiraina village were having every day new experiences of live telecast on different National and regional TV channels. Some of the reporters working with electronic media are almost camping in the hilly village, not bothering the inconvience faced by the residents due to their presence. They are enjoying cool temperature and natural beauty of the village at this time when Delhi is boiling, with ‘reporting Live from the native village of Khali’.
Born in 1972 in a small hilly village Dhiraina which falls in the Naini Dhar Panchyat under Shillai tehsil, Daleep Singh Rana brought laurel to the country as well as Himachal Pradesh after becoming the world renowned wrestler of World wrestling entertainment (WWE) with his new name given by WWE ‘The Great Khali’, two and half years back.
Yesterday while interacting with his mother Tandi Devi, father Jwalu Ram, brothers and several persons of his native village Dhiraina through a ‘live talk’ which was organized by an agency of Delhi he enquired about the well being of all villagers and families. He was informed by his brothers that his new house having doors of 8 feet hight and windows of 6 feets was almost ready and interior wood work was going on on war footing.
7 foot and 3 inch tall Daleep Singh Rana with 185 KG weight is very polite person and strongly believes that his spiritual Guru Ashutosh Maharaj had big role in his success, who always encouraged him and graced him with his divine blessings. After reaching India he would have his first activity to visit his guru along with his 6 feet tall Punjabi wife Parminder Kaur Rana. She was now a days busy in making all the arrangements for their arrival from USA as per family sources of Khali.
Daleep Singh Rana is having six brothers Mangal Singh [serving in Punjab Police], Inder Rana, Bhagat Singh, Yash Pal, Surender Singh, Attar Singh and a sister Daya Devi. His father, brothers and some of his friends were leaving Delhi to receive Khali at the Air Port.
Villagers however confirms on the condition of unanimity that some political parties were trying to bring the family of Khali in their political party to incash the popularity of Khali during the elections but family had refused to have any political link with any political party.
Daleep Singh Rana was mere a worker in Shimla when he was taken to Punjab by the then DGP Mr Bhullar. He recruited him in the police, made him to pass matriculation examination and take part in the wrestling. With his hard work Rana slowly rose to international level. He took his brother Mangal Singh to Punjab who was also recruited in the Punjab police. Khali had opened a Jim of international standard in Jullandhar whis was being run by one of his brother. Khali married a graduate Punjabi girl Parminder Kaur in 2003.
