Patwari arrested, remanded in police custody
NAHAN: Paramjeet Singh, a Patwari posted in the Paonta Patwar circle in Paonta town was remanded in police custody up to March 31st today by a Paonta court.
After receiving complaints, SDM Paonta Sandeep Kumar alongwith a team of officers including Tehsildar and SHO Paonta had raided the office of the Patwari yesterday and found a stranger women working on behalf of Patwari. Patwari however was missing from the office. Patwari was arrested by Paonta police last night in connection with a case registered under section 419 and 420 IPC.
The woman who was not a government employee, was allegedly preparing revenue documents for the past some time. All the revenue documents should have been prepared by the Patwari himself as per government instructions.
Mr V. S. Thakur, Dy S.P. Paonta said that after the raid Police immediately registered a case under section 419 and 420 IPC and launched hunt to arrest Patwari. Women G. Kaur reportedly a local resident of Paonta has been released on bail under section 419, Thakur added.
