Himachal Governor stressed upon the need for value based education
Amritsar: Mr. V.S. Kokje, Governor stressed upon the need for values based education in schools and colleges for overall development of the students. He was addressing the Prize Distribution Function of DAV College at Amritsar in Punjab today.
Mr. Kokje said that education without values was incomplete and added that parents and teachers should educate children in right perspective so that they could become architects of strong nation.
Governor lauded the DAV institutions for providing education with emphasis on moral and ethical values, development of mental and physical faculties, nurturing character building and all round development of children.
Kokje said that knowledge empowerment played a great role in nation building and added that students could contribute significantly in nation building activities.
Governor awarded prizes to meritorious students of the college. Earlier, Governor inaugurated the function by lighting a lamp. Later, Kokje released college magazine.
D.R. Gupta, Director DAV College Management Committee, New Delhi delivered his presidential remarks on the occasion.
Dr. V.K. Sharma, Principal welcomed the Governor and other guests and presented annual report.
H.S. Walia, Secretary, Staff Council thanked the Governor and other guests.
