Mandi: Mr. V.S. Kokje, Governor said that the contribution of Acharya Padamsambhava for propagation of Buddhism always be remembered by the people. He said that Padamsambhava played great role for spread of Buddhism in Bhot Desh and preachings of Lord Buddha to the masses.
Governor was today presiding over a four-day long symposium on ‘Guru Padamsambhava’ at Rewalsar in Mandi district. Buddhists and scholars drawn from various parts of the country participated in the symposium.
Kokje said that Indian religion and culture had its own identity in world over and added that with the organizing of such symposiums the religion and culture of the country were protected and preserved. He said that Acharya Padamsambhava was also known as Guru Rinpochhe and added that he was a great personality and yogi who devoted his life for the propagation and preservation of Buddhism.
He said that Buddhists also remembered him as second Buddha and added with sustained efforts of Padamsambhava the Buddhism spread in Tibet and its adjoining areas. He also stressed for proper evaluation of historic contribution of Padamsambhava to know the actual shape and status of Buddhism in present day context.
He also thanked for organizing the symposium.
