Himachal to protect the interests of professional
Shimla: Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, said that the state government was committed to protect the interests of the technically qualified personnel in the field of medical, teaching, engineering and allied disciplines. He was talking to the deputation of the Resident Doctor’s Association of the Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla, headed by Dr. Rajesh Sood, President and accompanied by other office bearers of the Association, here today, which called on him to apprise him of their various functional difficulties.
Chief Minister said that the state government had taken the decision to carry the recruitment to professional cadres on 50 percent batch wise and 50 percent by way of direct recruitment by conducting competitive examinations through the HP Public Service Commission and HP Subordinate Services Selection Board, which were the designated institutions to recommend the best capable persons for appointment in various departments of the state. He said that complete transparency would be maintained in carrying the recruitments to different positions so that the right persons were selected for the right positions.
Prof. Dhumal said that the health infrastructure would be strengthened and interests of the medical professionals safeguarded with a view to create best working environment in the health institutions so that quality health services were delivered to the people visiting such institutions for diagnostic and treatment etc. He said that the state government was considering requisitioning the services of the private medical specialists to provide part time specialized medical services in the government health institutions till the time stage appoints regular specialists to man such institutions. He said that the state government would give preference to the Himachali medical professionals in recruitment to various specialized positions however outsiders would be considered on merit for such positions so that people were provided quality health services at their door steps.
Chief Minister assured the deputation of sympathetic consideration of the government over their various demands and make sincere efforts to redress all their genuine grievances on priority. He advised the medical professionals to deliver dedicated medical services to the people to help health indicators of the state improve towards betterment.
