No case of bird flu reported in Himachal till date
Shimla : A Spokesman of Animal Husbandry said here today that no case of Bird Flu has been reported in the Pradesh till date and added that Department was fully prepared to countenance any eventuality in this regard.
Spokesman said that Rapid Response Teams had been constituted in every District of the State and they have been provided with all the required equipments to counter the threat of bird flu. He said that Veterinary Officers and Veterinary Pharmacists of the Department had been given special training on prevention and control of bird flu. He told that as precautionary measure about 4000 samples collected from various Government and Private Poultry Farms were sent to High Security Disease Investigation Laboratory, Bhopal and they all were found negative for bird flu.
He said that baseless rumours being spread in this regard may not be believed and all the poultry products are safe.
