Chandigarh: The Punjab government proposes to set up a fast track court to deal with the problems of NRIs. A request will be made to the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in this regard. A proposal to this effect was mooted by SAD working president Sukhbir Singh Badal, who said the cases pertaining to NRI affairs had been reportedly lingering for years. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the empowered steering committee for the NRIs sammelan to be held at Chandigarh and Jalandhar on January 5 and 6. Disclosing this here, media adviser to the Chief Minister said in another significant decision the committee asked the government to set up NRI police stations-cum-facilitation centres in six districts of Moga, Nawanshahr, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala and Ludhiana.
