Vigilance Awareness Week in Chandigarh till November 16

Chandigarh : Vigilance Awareness Week� would be observed till November 16, 2007. On the first day of this week Finance Secretary, UT, Chandigarh Mr. S.K. Sandhu, administered the oath of integrity & transparency. The oath taking ceremony was conducted at UT Secretariat, Sector 9 here today. All the organizations falling under the purview of the Central Vigilance Commission would be observing this week. During the commencement of the week, all the officials and employees took a pledge for continuously striving to bring about integrity and transparency in all the spheres of their activities. They also pledged for working unstintingly for eradication of corruption in all walks of life and to remain vigilant and work towards the growth and reputation of their organizations.During the week, efforts would be made to raise awareness among the users of the services provided by the departments/organizations, about the initiatives taken for improvement of the systems and procedures. The complaint handling policy, the avenues available for redressal of grievances, etc. would also be given priority.
